About The Artist

Over 20 years ago, my wife, Jane, and I decided that I should "retire" from practicing law to stay home with our children. Thanks to Jane's generosity and support, almost overnight I was transformed from lawyer to stay-at-home-dad. Because I hated the "Mr. Mom" moniker by which I was frequently addressed, I often suggested that "Ms. Dad" conveyed the same message and seemed a bit more clever. Being a Ms. Dad has given me the time and inspiration to develop my artwork.

Over the years, my work has been driven by changes in technology. When I embarked on my new "career," digital imaging and printing were in their infancy. My first images were printed by Graham Nash (of Crosby, Stills and Nash) and Mac Holbert. Nash and Holbert took a $200,000 Iris printer, used mainly in the advertising industry for proofing and presentations, and modified it so it could be used to print photographs and art on rag papers. The very printer they used to make my early prints is now in the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. Now, 25 years later, I print all my images in my home studio.

While I consider myself mainly a traditional artist, technology has given me new and different tools to work with. Most of all, technology has given me control of my work. I now have the final say every step of the way from concept to how the ink is applied to the page.

Finally, I want to thank everyone at Art Incorporated in San Antonio for giving me my start. Over the years they have tirelessly supported me and promoted my work. I will be forever grateful to everyone there.
